Welcome to Electoral College Dropouts, the only political blog in existence. Okay, that might not be entirely true. In fact, it seems that half of the interwebs these days is some guy or girl or a collection of both giving their entirely uniformed opinions about the state of the state or country or world.
And that's pretty much all we got too.
My rather unwieldy web-o-nym is Frinklin, I currently run a sports blog here, focusing in on the Tacoma Rainiers baseball team. My partner here at ECD is Marxsiano, the rather easy-to-figure-out alter ego of Mark Siano, formerly of... well, more damn projects that I can name. He also has his own blog here, and every so often puts on a show. He's the star, in case this didn't give it away. I'm a recovering Republican, Mark a long-suffering Democrat. We've been friends since high school, and we've kept on a running political discussion for as long as I can remember. He used to joke I was a fascist, and I rather correctly pointed out he was (is?) a communist.
This blog will mostly focus on the upcoming 2008 presidential election. In case you haven't been paying attention, it's a bit of a big deal. We'll also discuss local politics as well, as our state of Washington is facing a gubernatorial election in 2008, as well as touching on local issues as well. I'm in Tacoma and part of the fairly awesome FeedTacoma blog consortium. Mark is up in Seattle, and I'm sure will soon spout some lunatic lefty solution to the region's transportation problems.
Was that a shot? Yes, but just a small one.
The Iowa caucuses, where approximately 250,000 middle-aged, rural white people decide who we get to vote for in November, is upcoming this Thursday, so we'll take a look this week at who stands to gain and who stands to lose and just how much. We hope you'll join us.
